When It comes to figuring out what I'm good at and what would I be wanting to do with the rest of my life...I get excited.
I love the thought of moving out on my own into the big world and taking it all in one (giant) step at a time. So the question still remains. What is it that I want to do?
Let's start off with my qualities and strengths. For starters, I'm a people person. Friendly, genuine, kind, warm, empathic, and charismatic. A good humanitarian. But can also work well alone. Intelligent, keen, curious, insightful, inquiring, and calm. As you see, I'm a very versatile person and that's what makes me so picky. Giving these two examples of what my strengths are, let's go into my choices.
The first career choice I thought of was when I was about 12 years old. A Psychologist. To study human behavior and the mind itself is great, but to use that knowledge to help people really puts the icing on top of the cake for me. I'm a natural at connecting with people and a great listener. I can think logically for everyone else and myself without taking sides or looking at the world through different paradigms. That's why being a psychologist seems like the perfect job.
I also want to become a Human Resource Manager. It sounds silly, but growing up the only games I would play were simulation/strategy games. You know, those little games where you had to be a tycoon and "manage" everything without losing too much money. Well, it was fun. And it's me all the way. The business world isn't really my niche but I could definitely adjust, which is another one of my strengths.
Other choices were teacher, reporter, Journalist, or social worker. All jobs I might like. But which to choose?
Now for the more "interesting" careers.
The first one that I liked was a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. I've always wondered, "It HAS to be someone way to cure that certain disease," or "I could definitely figure out how to create a certain medicine with the right training." Well this job does interest me and would do great on my personal value system.
Another choice; how about a Certified Personal Accountant. My mind can hold volumes of information and hold it. Complex figures are nothing to me. But is it exciting enough for me, I don't know. Financial disasters are happening everywhere and I would LOVE to help those people make a bit more money when they don't know how. And it also pays good ;)
The last choices were owning a small business and real Estate. Two fun and well paid careers. Of course I could always do one of these on the sides.
I'm considering registering for the Navy. Seeing as they pay for school and it will be a good experience for me. Not to mention having that on my resume.
Coming to an end, I would just like to throw another surprise at you. My Dream. My life-long dream is to become an Actor. I have the talent and the passion. Being on stage excites me and being in the spotlight rejuvenates me. This is perfect for me. But hard to accomplish. But I WON'T give up. I'm moving to any small city near L.A. or New York and will continue my career there while doing my acting thing.
In conclusion, I can't accomplish all of this if I don't finish school first(IB program). So I have to really buckle down and do the damn thang. Because I will succeed. And be back on here 10 years from now, telling you about my journey.
